On 6 July 2020, a video called "Why I Hate Public Bathrooms. Vibe Talks Episode 1" appeared on a month-old YouTube channel.

It is a straight-to-camera monologue about a small irritation, escalated well past the point the subject deserves. Six years and several million subscribers later, that is still a fair description of the format.

The Vibe Talks name did not stick, but the approach did — and it is the through-line from that first upload to the Just Chatting streams that make up most of the output now.
